Several days, I was caught by a story, in which four Indian widows shared their stories about how to manage to survive when they lost their husbands to covid-19. Before the pandemic, they all were housewives who only left home to pick up their children from school. When they lost their husbands, they lost everything. They have to find a way to make a living. But finding a job is hard for well- educated people, for these housewives, it is almost impossible. In spite of government’s compensation programs, very few can be qualified to get the most needed money. I know their story is the tip of the iceberg. How many families and people are still struggling financially and mentally under this pandemic? How many people can’t get back on their feet so far? When will life return to the way that we are all familiar?
